here's nothing quite as romantic as filling the walls of a home with memories. There's nothing quite as nostalgic as sitting in your grandparents kitchen, gingerly turning the pages of their wedding album, the sepia-toned photos curling up at the edges where the 50-year old glue is starting to erode.
Growing up, visiting my grandparents was my one source of nostalgia and it still is. My Granny is the one person is the holder of all people moments and memories. She's the person who is a big piece of my inspiration to pick up a camera. Whether you remember it to be a good or bad season of life she has images of it, because every stage of life is worth remembering. Without fail every visit I will spend a couple hours combing through photographs.
Those afternoons with my grandparents shaped me. If, through my photography, I can create those moments for families in the future, that's the most fulfilling work I could ever ask to do.
Selfishly, I became a photographer so that I could control the photography experience for others. Growing up, my family wasn't big on family photos. Something I always wanted to remember the good and bad seasons of life. So I found myself romanticizing the experience. And so, I picked up a camera and decided to learn how to give others the personal, romanticized, absolutely ethereal experience that I myself had always wanted.
Here are the places I’ll be in 2023-2024 (to be updated as we go).

"She made my husband and I feel so comfortable during our engagement photos & on our wedding day. We could not have had a better photographer guiding us through the biggest day of our lives! Not only is she friendly, organized, and a gem to be around, she’s also your biggest fan & greatest hype woman!"
"Without a question we knew we wanted Mary to be apart of our big day! She knows how to have fun, set people where they need to be, get things done and the most obvious, takes AMAZING pictures! We sure love Mary and will ALWAYS reference her. She’s an absolute joy to work with!"
"Mary Shelton Media is the BEST. First of all, she is the most personable and encouraging person ever. She makes people feel at ease, themselves, and genuinely excited to be in front of the camera. As someone who doesn't love getting pictures taken, I was nervous, but all the photos turn out beautifully! Mary really aims to capture the heart and beauty of the people in front of the camera, not just point and shoot."
